Raith is seeking a motivated Applications Engineer based in the nano@stanford facilities at Stanford University, California to support applications development in electron beam lithography and SEM-based metrology.

Your mission

  • Join Raith’s global applications development team in generating new workflows, features, and products related to electron beam lithography and SEM measurement systems.
  • Become an advanced user of Raith nanofabrication systems at the Stanford Nanofabrication Facility (SNF) and/or Stanford Nano Shared Facility (SNSF), including but not limited to the EBPG 5200 Plus EBL system and CHIPSCANNER150_Two-HS SEM.
  • Support customer applications for EBL and SEM inspection systems, including some travel to customer sites in the region
  • Actively support development topics of interest to Raith and our customers, particularly related to EBL and SEM metrology / inspection: 
    • Standardized wafer test structures
    • Tool monitoring strategies, yield control, and process window analysis
    • Automated workflows for both EBL and metrology
    • BKM’s for technology transfer between facilities

Your Qualifications

  • A passion for nanoscale instrumentation and fabrication processes informed by a hands-on background in the physical sciences or engineering.  
  • Exceptional team working and communications skills are critically important, as well as being results-driven.
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills and experience with nanofabrication, metrology, and data-driven analysis.
  • Ph.D. in physics, materials science, electrical engineering, or related field.
  • Preferred:  Experience with Electron Beam Lithography, DUV Optical Lithography, metrology and characterization with CDSEM, process control methodologies, SPC, and Design of Experiment.
  • Preferred: Experience scripting for scientific data processing using Javascript, JMP, MATLAB, Python, R, etc. 
  • Preferred: Ability to do some travel in the Americas and to Europe.
